We were at Melbourne central shopping and ended up here for a quick lunch. We ordered chicken nasi goreng and it was yum! The service was good too.
We've been to this restaurant three times and each time we've not been disappointed. Very tasty fare with authentic taste.
Whilst Chilli India next door is still being renovated, from the same group (I'm assuming because of the similar signage) comes Chilli Everest, highlighting Nepalese cuisine and influences from its neighbouring countries in the north and south. Not sure if the whole seating stretch is reserved for Chilli Everest but we were lucky to grab a table next to the exit to little Bourke Street which was rather cold. It was by far the busiest restaurant out of all the shops with many patrons itching for something close to home.
There was lots on the menu that I was intrigued with but settled with their popular chow mein, Nepalese style. It was very tasty, the breathe of the wok still lingered in my mouth hours afterwards. It was also spicy and had raw pieces of onion which I adore. The pieces of goat wasn't what I expected, they were more the texture of jerky than being soft and tender.
On the side we also shared some chilli potatoes which I'm breaking into a sweat thinking about it, it was very spicy. My friend however loved it with his Thakali Khana Set which gave it that oomph, very much needed from his commentary.
No room to try their momos, maybe next time.
